I was reading the sign and in strange writing it said,
Enter at your own risk
“Maybe we should go back, I don’t like the thing it is saying,” I said.
“Wait, you know what it says?” asked Jill.
“Kind of, yeah,’ I reply.
“What does it say?” asked Leon excitedly.
“Enter at your own risk,” I answered.
“Cool,” said Leon.
“Creepy,” said Jill.
“First, let’s study the temple,” I objected.
We looked in Google and Wikipedia.
“Found it. Read it loud and proud, dude,” said Leon.
“This temple was used by the Ancient Greeks to take care of their most valuable treasures and it can also travel from dreams. It will choose the right person to find it but they can never be chosen twice. It is also called the Temple of Ares.”
“Damn, that is awesome,” said Leon excitedly.
“This might be the first time I ever agree with you,” agreed Jill.
When I finished reading I actually felt an urge to explore the temple and find the Greek riches. It’s like it is my destiny and I literally feel it in my bones.
“We are going to go find it,” I declared.
“Are you nuts?! That is insane! This also has another sentence saying there are three types of traps in that-that temple! You’ll have to be flipping crazy if you want to go in there!” shouted Jill.
“I am definitely going with you. After all, when it comes to friends, you have to take a risk. Put your hand up if you want to go to the temple,” declared Leon.
Leon and me lifted our hands up.
“Oh my god. I can’t believe I’m doing this,” sighed Jill.
Then she lifted up her hand.
I grinned. “That’s the spirit.”
We went to the place where we found the temple’s entrance. It seemed like the same strange writing was written down as a riddle. It went a little like this...
What goes up but never goes down?
This was a tricky riddle. You see, a lot of things go up but none of them do not go back down. Like the sun for instance, the clouds stay put, but all of the things that I am thinking are from the outside world. Maybe it is something from us.
Probably our weight or height but sometimes it might be something that isn’t physical, like...
“Our age!” I blurted out.
“What do you mean our age?” asked Leon.
“Age is the answer to this riddle. For an explanation, if we were 8 and we were turning 9, we would turn to that age but never go back to 8!” I explained.
“A perfect explanation and answer,” said Jill.
“Well, what are you waiting for man, it’s time to tell the... door – the answer,” snickered Leon.
As soon as I said the answer, we went a very long and very claustrophobic staircase. We even had to bend down and crawl all the way, and trust me, it was exhausting. When we came to the end of the billion metres long staircase, we lifted our backs and made crackling clicks. Painful but relieving. We saw a giant floor of types of animals. Some carnivorous and some herbivorous. I threw a stone at a carnivore one and a poison arrow shot out from a Maya statue and hit another one. When I threw a stone at a herbivore one, nothing happened.
“At least we know which one we are supposed to step on,” said Jill.
We crossed the pathway with poisonous darts and went into a chasm of green gas and two bridges. There was another sign with the language saying...
If you look at someone and look at your right arm, would their arm be left or right?
“Right, duh,” said Leon and when he was about to step on the bridge on the right.
Jill shouted, “No Leon! It will be left because if we were them and the other person lifted up their right arm, it would be on our left side.”
“Oh, what?” said Leon like a dummy.
“She is saying it is the left side, you moron.”
We kept on walking but this time on the left side. At the end of the long passageway was a giant Statue of Ares that looked like 3 people were beating it up with a bat every 10 minutes.
“You passed all my tests. Good, I wanted my snacks to be nice and fresh,” said a mysterious voice coming from a mound of rubble.
“Like the last 3 times you tried to kill us. None of them said Guess what! If you pass a test, one of your buddies gets eaten at the end! That’s SUPER!” yelled Leon in a dumb voice. This made the figure mad.
“You’ll pay for that! Rakmel will tear you to shreds!” said the figure. Then out of nowhere, a giant raven came diving down to Leon. Leon squealed and rolled to one side. Rakmel’s talons hit the floor and were scratching the floor making a high-pitched, eerie “squeak”. Leon, Jill and I went down to the floor, covering our ears. With all our strength, we got up and got something to distract Rakmel and to attack him. Leon threw a silver plate right at Rakmel’s eye.
“YAAAGH!!” screamed Rakmel. He charged at Leon, who used evasive maneuvers and was making Rakmel crash into different pillars. He was running to me and then I got a golden sword and hit Rakmel with one bold stroke and Rakmel fell with a few words to say.
“You will never beat... the lord of monsters... Scald,” he said in his last breath.
“All right, we did it and we found out one of the most hidden places on Earth!” said Jill in excitement.
“Her and her architecture.” said Leon. I laughed. I wonder where our next adventure awaits.
The End (Not)
