Today, I was in this dark cave wondering how I got there. It was entirely scary that even every horror movie I watched wasn’t as scary as this. It was like I was in the most scary horror movie yet and I was the actor dealing with all the computer animations that’s super creepy. Then I saw this faint glow. Could it be daylight? Was it the Sun? Or was it a giant monster that can glow in the dark to find its prey?

Remember all those questions? All of them were wrong. I took a few steps forward and found out that it was like a very big house. Suddenly, I started feeling a bit nauseous.

I went to sit down but I found out that I was being pulled to the temple! I tried to run but I couldn’t move my legs. I was too frightened! I tried to scream but no sound came out. It was like my voice-box was out of words. Then when I touched the temple an eye of a type of monster stared right at my face and cried a bloodcurdling roar. I opened my eyes and I saw my mum.

“Get up, honey, you’ll be late for school.” she said. I did a sigh of relief.

I packed my bag, did my lunch, ate my breakfast, brushed my teeth and went to walk with my friends, Jill and Leon.

“Where have you been, man? It’s like we have been waiting for ten hours except for ten minutes,” said Leon.

“Ten minutes you guys were waiting for me?” I asked.

“Yep, you might not have heard us yelling at you but you sure did come pretty late,” said Jill. “It’s a good thing that we are close to the school.”

“Yeah, otherwise we would be late for the roll, news and fitness,” said Leon.

I wasn’t listening. I was thinking about that eye that I saw in my dream. It looked like purple scales that reminded me of obsidian. It also had a fiery eye that was filled with love for power to control something.

“Hey, are you even listening?” said Jill.

“Sorry, I was just thinking of something that was in my dream,” I said.

“Well, I guess it’s a bunch of rubbish. Everyone knows that dreams don’t actually say something,” said Leon.

“Wait till you hear it. I was in this dark cave and I saw this glow and when I went close to it, it started pulling me to it with invisible arms and then I saw this fiery eye staring right at me,” I explained.

“Gee, that’s like a nightmare,” said Jill.

“Guys, come on, we’ll be late for school,” cried Leon.

“Like my mum,” I whispered.

“Our first lesson is going to be history and fantasy,” said our teacher, Mr. Oakwood. “Now we will do a little quiz of our knowledge of mythical creatures. I will give you your sheets and each of them has four easy questions and four hard ones. Now you can begin.”

I looked at my sheet and this is what it said...

1. What is the name of the flying horse? _______________

2. Where does the Kraken live in? ________________

3. When do vampires show up? _______________

4. Are dragons worshipped in China? ________________

5. If you were looking at a Basilisk in the eye, what would you turn into? ______________

6. Who is the most known satyr? ____________

7. What does dragon mean in Greek? ________________

8. What do dragons’ eyes look like when they are cursed?______________________

Okay, I could do this, here it goes.

“What did you get in the test?” I asked Leon.

“B-. Come on, I had to deserve something better than that.”

“I got an A+.” I said.

“So did I.” said Jill.

“Now I am the one that has to be left alone in grades,” complained Leon.

“You are always the one that gets lower grades,” snickered Jill.

Then I saw an arrow pointing left in my mind. I rubbed my eyes. It was gone.

“What are you doing?” asked Jill.

“Follow me” I said. I walked left until an arrow pointed right, then left, then right, then left, until it did a stop sign. I looked forward and saw this strange writing saying…

Enter at your own risk

“Maybe it isn’t a good idea to go there. Let’s go back,” I said.

“Wait a second, you know what it says?” asked Jill surprised.

“Kind of, yeah.”

“What does it say?” asked Leon excitedly.

“It says ‘Enter at your own risk’,” I replied.

“Cool” said Leon.

“Creepy” said Jill.

“First let’s study the temple,” I said.

We typed down to look in Wikipedia and then looked into Google.

“Found it! Read it loud and proud, dude,” said Leon.

“This is the temple of the Ancient Greeks who wanted to keep their most valuable treasures in the temple which can travel in dreams and chooses the right person to find the temple but can never be chosen twice,” I read. “It is also called The Temple of Ares”.

The End (for now)
