Leon threw a silver plate right at Rakmel’s eye.
‘YAAAGH!!’ screamed Rakmel. He charged at Leon, who used evasive manoeuvres to make Rakmel crash into different pillars. Leon was running to me and then I got a golden sword and hit Rakmel with one bold stroke and Rakmel fell with a few words to say.
‘You will never beat... the lord of the monsters...’ he said with his last breath.
‘All right, we did it and we found out one of the most hidden places on Earth!’ said Jill in excitement.
‘Her and her architecture,’ said Leon. I laughed. I wonder where our next adventure awaits. We just got out of the temple where I started having visions in my head but this time, they hurt.
‘Dude, you okay, man?’ asked Leon concernedly.
‘I... I’m fine. But, would you guys like to come to my house?’
We went on to Wikipedia (again) and looked at the same thing of the Temple of Ares. Fortunately, it has a brother temple called the Temple of Hephaestus.
‘It has 2 additional traps in the temple and it is said to have a more powerful guardian than the Temple of Ares,’ I read out loud.
‘This guy seems a lot harder than Rakmel. Maybe we should have a break and maybe forget about all of this,’ whimpered Jill.
I am positive this is the worst idea ever,’ said Leon.
I gave him a stern look.
‘I mean, I could probably be able to do it, meh, I don’t know.’
We walked to the destination that the visions showed me. The same language popped up and it said:
In this temple, you will meet your fate.
‘Can you read it?’ asked Leon.
When I read it, they seemed a bit nervous. Inside was a big pit of acid with poles sticking out. This must have been the first trap. We jumped from pole to pole. I slipped but I grabbed onto two poles. I was only inches away from the acid.
‘Get up, man!’ yelled Leon, taking out his hand.
‘I can swing from side to side! I’ll see you at the end!’ I yelled back. I swung to the end where Jill and Leon were waiting.
‘I will never do chemistry again when you look at it like this!’ said Jill.
We ran to the next area, and there we saw a rack with clubs and zombies in the middle of the ring.
‘My guess is that we have to beat the c*** out of these guys!’ said Leon.
‘Language, mate!’ I said. We grabbed the clubs and we hit all the zombies, swinging them around like maniacs. We didn’t want to be lunch for the zombies after all! They were pretty easy, I have to admit. As soon as they were all gone, we went to a staircase that looked really suspicious.
As soon as I stood on a stair, it fell completely into a bottomless pit.
‘Run!’ is the only thing I said. We ran up the stairs with only a few inches away.
‘3 traps down, 2 to go,’ said Leon. We walked and walked until we finally realised that it was another trap!
The room is just a square that goes round and round with lots of passages that end up in the same place! We looked everywhere on the roof and we saw a hole on the roof. We went in to the roof and saw some light; we thought that it was over until Jill stopped us.
‘Don’t! That has a little statue which shines so brightly that it lures the person that saw it into a trap (deep breath),’ said Jill really fast. We saw a room that had more treasure in it than Rakmel had. We were about to run to the pile of jewels until we saw a humanoid rhinocerous.
‘YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!’ yelled the rhino. ‘YOU CAN NEVER PASS TYRON!!!’ We looked at him with horrified faces.
Tyron charged at us like… well, a rhino. He was too big to fit through the hole but he reached out and grabbed Leon.
AAAAAH!!!! I’M SCARED OF HEIGHTS!!!!’ yelled Leon. We ran and climbed up a pillar with any weapon that we could find. I got a lance and Jill found a gun that shoots jewels (don’t ask). We started hitting him with all our strength but all it did was leave a few scrapes on his thick hide. He laughed maniacally but he left us enough time to figure out what to do. His only weakness was his eyes and nose. We went for the eyes because to us, they look like bowling balls.
I jabbed his eyes with my lance to make him not see while Jill tried to make him focused with his smell on her. He looked straight at Jill without actually seeing since he’s blind. He ran at full speed but what he didn’t know was that Jill was right in front of a pit of acid. She dived to the other side and Tyron fell in with a sickening cry. Luckily, he left Leon in the mound of jewels.
Another temple down,’ said Leon shivering.
‘And also, we realised that you are scared of heights,’ said Jill, snickering.
The End (really, when is it going to be the real end!?)
