On media balance

“This is an excellent article. Accurate and fair, educative and temperate. I am a secondary teacher and this is the type of article that all senior students need to read: not just for its social comment but as a guide to how they process and re-present the complexities, dichotomies and dissonance that are an inherent part of a functioning society. Thank you Professor Greste.”

AI and the public service

“AI is already shedding jobs in IT, accounting and many other business sectors. My query is if AI will be used to reduce the widespread duplication and overservicing in parts of local, state and federal government? Productivity is said to be very low in Australia and maybe non-existent in the government currently and this technology could reduce the cost of government. With years of deficits predicted by the federal government and the highest inflation in Western countries, surely it is time to reduce public service numbers in Australia?”
