Your rights if your flight is cancelled due to severe weather

With much of the UK currently being battered by gusts of up to 80mph and heavy rain courtesy of Storm Ciara, flight operators are announcing the cancellation of a number of flights.

Both the 12.45 flight from Dublin to Cardiff with Dutch low-cost airline Transavia and the Heathrow-bound British Airways 12.45 flight have been cancelled due to the extreme conditions, leaving many Welsh rugby fans stranded.

In this instance it's probably a good idea to check what your travel insurance policy offers in terms of helping you claim back any costs incurred.
