'Your Pub Can' scheme means you can now get more than a pint at these Nottingham boozers

Regulars at a number of Notts pubs can get more than just a pint at their local after the launch of the Your Pub Can campaign.

Charitable causes in Nottingham could receive funding for community projects through a new initiative thanks to pub group Ei Publican Partnerships and Carling’s multi-million-pound investment to regional projects across the UK.

Not-for-profit community groups and projects can apply online. Nominations can also be made by individuals.

Anyone nominating has to select an eligible pub in its community from those participating including:

  • Catchem’s Corner, Old Basford
  • Cricketers, Beeston
  • Oxford Hotel, Bulwell
  • Phoenix, Gedling
  • Duke of St Albans, Top Valley
  • Victoria Tavern, Ruddington
  • Blue Bell, Long Eaton

Nick Light, managing director at Ei Publican Partnerships, said: “We’ve partnered with Molson Coors and Carling so that our network of thousands of pubs can sign up to help support projects that hugely benefit local communities.

“From tidying up green spaces, to building sport and recreational facilities, there are so many good causes out there that work tirelessly to improve the communities we live in and they deserve to be supported. We want our pubs to help ensure that community projects get the investment they need to continue with their efforts.”

Through the programme community action projects can apply to receive funding and support to develop plans. It could be anything from revamping a local community centre to fixing the facilities of an amateur sports team; maintaining a local park or providing a service to support vulnerable members of the community.
