These spectacular videos capture the moment thunder and lightning illuminated the Manchester sky.
A storm broke out in the early hours of Wednesday morning, bringing torrential rain and loud claps of thunder to the region.
Mancunians were woken up by the flashes of light as the storm arrived at around 2am.
There were reports of thunder and lightning across the whole of Greater Manchester, including the city centre, Oldham, Rochdale, Trafford and Tameside.

One video taken by Nikos Alessandro shows forks of lightning above flats in the city centre.
Another CCTV clip taken by Oldham Weather, shared to Twitter, shows how bright the sky was at 3.05am.
Sian Devine wrote on Twitter: "What a thunderstorm. Over Old Trafford football ground in Manchester just now."
Ruby posted: "Last time I had a thunderstorm like this it was Florida. Not Manchester! This is insane."
Twitter user @MadMancMama wrote: "Been awake for nearly an hour now after Manchester's just got battered with the loudest and brightest thunderstorm I've ever seen and it's still going."

Yesterday the Met Office issued a yellow weather alert warning there could be thunder storms overnight.

The weather warning is no longer in place, but forecasters predict there could be further storms on Thursday and Friday.
