Your guide to Glastonbury Other Stage headliner Tame Impala

If you aren't sure who or what Tame Impala is, don't worry - we have you covered before they take to the Other Stage at Glastonbury Festival this evening.

The Australian group are performing at the same time Stormzy takes to the Pyramid Stage, so if grime isn't your thing - Tame Impala might take your fancy.

Tame Impala is technically a one-man-band, as the brainchild of Perth musician and instrumentallist Kevin Parker.

For live performances, Parker brings together a rolling line-up of other musicians and performers, including members of Pond - another Australian band - who took to the John Peel Stage earlier today.

Tame Impala came to fruition in 2007, releasing a range of singles and EPs before their first full album - Innerspeaker - which they put out in 2010.

They've now released three albums, but with Currents - their latest album - released in 2015, fans are impatiently waiting for their latest release.

It's rumoured that they are due to drop a new album later this year, after they released two singles earlier this year: Patience and Borderline.

Parker has said his music style draws on inspiration from late 1960s and early 1970s psychedelic rock, layering sounds and tracks for his studio albums.

Apparently Parker's favourite band is the prog-rock group Supertramp, whose style can be found throughout Tame Impala's tracks.

Although Parker has also talked about slightly more ilicit influences on his music, telling a journalist at NME magazine that his 2015 album came about after listening to the Bee Gees after taking cocaine and magic mushrooms.

Only Parker is present on the studio tracks, doing all the vocals and instruments himself - but in order to replicate his hits live, he needs support from a live band.

You can expect him to be joined by Jay Watson, Dominic Simper, Julien Barbagallo, and Cam Avery - all of whom have been touring as the live incarnation of Tame Impala for several years.

The group headlined Coachella this year, sandwiched between Ariana Grande and Childish Gambino - where their epiphany pop stylings went down a storm.

Here's hoping they woo Glastonbury with the signature Aussie charm which won over Coachella back in April.
