Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 is on its way to our screens – but it's going to be around a year until we reunite with Hudson Thames' Peter Parker.
Still, we have a better idea of what to expect from the next installment of Marvel's hit animated series now (including some exciting cameos), thanks to a new teaser trailer that screened for New York Comic Con attendees. And, in the meantime, we've got Tom Holland's MCU version of the web-slinger hitting the big screen again this summer in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 release date speculation
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 will arrive in fall 2026, as confirmed at New York Comic Con by Marvel Studios' Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum.
"We will have a Spider-Man season every year if I have anything to say about it," he told Collider in February 2025. "What usually happens, as you know, in animation, is that there's a bigger gap between season 1 and season 2 than in subsequent seasons, and that'll be similar in Friendly. We will have to wait a little bit more than a year for season 2, but then after that, it should come out on an annual cadence, hopefully."
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 plot speculation
Although a plot synopsis is yet to be released for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2, the first season's finale gives us some clues.
Firstly, it seems Peter's father Richard Parker will feature, given that he made a cameo right at the end of the first season when Aunt May pays him a visit in prison. But why is he behind bars? What conspiracy is there to unravel? Why was he not mentioned at all during the first season until this scene? Where does Peter think he is? Our guess is that Peter will become embroiled in all of this, making the stakes more personal next season.
As for the villain of season 2, although it seems that Doc Ock is plotting his escape (we briefly see him pinning a picture of his tentacle suit design on the wall of his prison cell), our bet is that Norman Osborn will be the one to watch. Despite being Peter's mentor in the first season, he showed his potential for villainy through Project Monolith, which he wanted to use to ensure that mankind is "revered like gods"...
Showrunner Jeff Trammell has confirmed that Gwen Stacey will be joining the cast of characters for season 2, giving us a first look at her superhero alter-ego, Spider-Gwen, too. Does that mean romance is on the cards for Peter?
Is there a Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 trailer?
There's currently no trailer for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 available to watch online, but a teaser did air behind closed doors at New York Comic Con 2025. In the clip, which will hopefully be released to the public soon, there's a glimpse of Charlie Cox's Daredevil in animated form and some sentient black goo, which suggests we can expect to see Venom in season 2.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 cast speculation
Although the first season was action-packed, no one bit the dust, meaning that we should expect the majority of cast members to return for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2. Furthermore, there was an exciting cameo from Richard Parker (voiced by Marvel Animation legend Josh Keaton) at the very end of the season finale, so we should expect newcomers to join the stacked cast list too.
Gwen Stacey will be joining the cast, but the voice actor who will be bringing her to life is yet to be announced. In fact, there haven't been any official announcements yet, but here's what we expect the Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man cast list to look like:
