We love shopping small, independent and local - and so do our pets. Independent pet shops often provide the friendliest and most personal service, and the highest quality pet products. They know just how important our dogs are to us.
To champion the brilliant people who work tirelessly managing these independent pet shops, Beco, the UK’s leading sustainable pet brand, is launching the inaugural Beco Independent Pet Shop Awards.
And to celebrate the launch, Beco is giving away a dog hamper worth £150 to five lucky winners on TeamDogs. All you have to do is register or sign in to TeamDogs and answer a question .
Beco will be asking people to nominate their favourite independent pet shop. A judging panel will visit the nominees before crowning one of them the UK’s Favourite Independent Pet Shop.
George Bramble, Beco co-founder, says: “Britain is a nation of pet lovers, and this has never been more obvious over the past year or so. We have always relied on local pet shops for all our pet care needs, and now we’re calling on people all over Britain to thank these high street champions by nominating their favourites and encouraging people to support their local pet shop.”
The pandemic was tough for everyone on the high street, but with 3.2 million people becoming new pet owners last year, pet shops have been working harder than ever before with home deliveries, community support and advice giving on everything from nutrition and pet care to sustainability.
Nominations are now open on Beco and will close November 7. The final winner will be announced in November.

Terms and conditions
This competition is open to anyone who is a resident of the United Kingdom except employees of Reach PLC. Entrants must be 18 or over. Closing date for entries is 11.59pm on November 7, 2021. You must sign up/register to the TeamDogs website and answer the question to enter in the prize draw. Winners will be selected at random. Winners will be contacted via email. You have 48 hours from the initial email to claim your prize. To claim your prize you must reply to this email. Please allow 28 days from the date of answering the email to receive the prize. The prizes are the following: 5 Beco dog hampers with the value of £150 each. Winner’s details will be purely used for administrative purposes to send out the prize. Winner's details will be shared with Beco that will fulfill the prize. Entry to the competition is restricted to one entry per person please. Multiple entries will be disqualified.
