Your chance to nominate those selfless souls making a difference to others

Lanarkshire residents are being encouraged to nominate a friend or loved one who has made a difference to somebody’s life or to their community.

The Making a Difference Award, sponsored by Specsavers, celebrates the "little acts of human kindness that can have a huge impact on an individual or community".

It is just one of 10 categories in this year’s Scotland’s Champions in partnership with the Daily Record, Sunday Mail and Utilita.

The awards recognise the exceptional achievements of ordinary people and the deadline to submit nominations is July 12, with the awards ceremony taking place on September 18 - COVID restrictions permitting - at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Glasgow Central.

Andrew McGonagle from Specsavers told Lanarkshire Live : ‘Making a difference in our local community is an important ethos to our entire team, therefore we are delighted to support this fantastic award which recognises the difference individual people can make.

"We would love to see someone from Lanarkshire win this award. If you know someone who fits the bill, make sure you nominate them ahead of the deadline."

Nominations can be entered here.
