Asda is looking for a special cat to star in its Christmas advert for 2019 - and your precious pet could be shot to stardom!
This year the supermarket's ad will feature the feline character 'Mr Grumbles', and Asda is looking for a 'grumpy' cat to fill the role.
Asda says it needs a cat 'whose personality prowess ranges from grumpy and sullen to jubilant and joyous with the snap of a finger (and maybe a treat)' for its 'most magical Christmas advert yet.
Eilidh Macaskill, vice president of Creative and Media at Asda, said: “We want to make this Christmas the most extra special Christmas yet, so we’re pulling-out all stops to ensure we bring a little magic to screens, with the help of Mr Grumbles.”
The casting call is open to kitties of all shapes and sizes, from short ginger kittens to raggedy ragdolls and tame tabbys.
The ad director will then select Mr Grumbles from hundreds of headshots, taken from a casting-call for Yorkshire-based cat models, and those submitted by members of the public through social media, selecting the feline who brings to life 'the essence of Mr Grumbles'.
Asda wants to see the grumpiest of cats from across the nation. If you have a cat worthy of the name Mr Grumbles, send a picture to Asda on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #MrGrumbles.
Filming for Asda’s 2019 Christmas ad will begin in mid-September.
