Your bed and sofas will no longer be covered in fur with this 1 pet-hair resistant item – it's a $30 must-have for pet owners

Bedroom with gray armchair with gray throw over it, large plant in vase, glass side table, large windows revealing outdoor area. Pictured to the right is the corner of a bed with a blue and white patterned rug.

In a bid to keep fur off the furniture while my partner's cat is in the midst of her summer shedding season, I went off on a deep dive for the most pet hair-resistant blankets and throws.

Silk, nylon, and leather are all fantastic options, but to stay budget-friendly, I learned throws made from tightly woven microfiber, such as this $30 microfiber blanket from Amazon, are the winner. It's perfect for keeping fur off your bed and sofas as it's naturally smooth, durable, and stain resistant.

As it has a tight weave, pet hair sits on the surface and can easily be brushed off, meaning you won't have to reach for your best vacuum for pet hair quite as often.

Why this Madison Park microfiber planket is a must-have for pet owners

Cat and dog hairs have a variety of unique structures and natural oils that explain why pet hair is so hard to vacuum, so to lessen how vigorously they cling to your furniture and the static charge they create, a pet hair-resistant blanket is the answer.

We've already written about how using a throw can reduce pet allergy triggers in bed, but have you thought about using a genuine, pet hair-resistant blanket across the whole house?

The living room, bedroom, and even your pet's favorite spots can be covered in a comforting, luxurious, and easy-to-clean blanket. Rather than getting the lint roller out every time the dog covers the sofa in fur, or having to set your best cordless vacuum to its strongest suction mode to try yank out the hairs, you can simply shake them off.

Plus, opting for a microfiber blanket as opposed to silk or nylon will drive down the cost. It might not be as luxurious as a silky material, but it is much easier to clean and keep in pristine condition for years.
