Youngsters score as Everton defeat Accrington Stanley in game watched by Moise Kean

Rafa Benitez put his Everton players through their paces with a training match with Accrington Stanley today - a game watched by Moise Kean.

The Blues won 3-0 against the League One side in a behind-closed-doors fixture at Finch Farm this afternoon.

Under-23s forward Tom Cannon opened the scoring at Finch Farm against Stanley.

Second-half goals arrived courtesy of Lewis Gibson, back at the club after a loan with Reading, and Anthony Gordon with Benitez said to have made sweeping changes at half-time.

Accrington have been back in pre-season training at least a week more than Everton and so the new manager will have been pleased to see his players emerge with a win, albeit in a training match situation, as opposed to an official friendly.

It is understood the teams only played an 80 minute match.

Kean, on his return to the club for the first time since October having been on loan at Paris Saint Germain, watched the warm-up game from the sidelines.

Kean has been quarantining and so could not join the rest of the squad for the start of pre-season training on Monday.
