Covid-19 vaccination of children aged from five to 11 years started on Monday.

They are being given Pfizer's mRNA-based vaccine for children, which requires different preparation procedures.

The vaccine comes with an orange label to differentiate it from the adult vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine is currently the only Covid-19 vaccine approved for young children by the Food and Drug Administration.

Children with underlying health conditions are being prioritised for vaccination.

According to the Ministry of Public Health, there are 5 million children aged five to 11 years in Thailand, some of them living with chronic disease.
