Youngsters from Creetown's Paula Herries School of Dancing come together to celebrate their success

Talented youngsters from Paula Herries School of Dancing and their families recently came together to celebrate their success.

Dancers were presented with individual awards and certificates for their efforts.

The main awards were those from examinations which took place via Zoom or film submission in July. The dancers were originally meant to sit exams in March but, due to Covid-19, these had to be postponed.

Lessons continued online or outdoors when permitted so the dancers could get through their exams without having to cancel. Nineteen dancers from Creetown, Newton Stewart, Wigtown and Kirkcudbright sat 43 exams between them, which were certified by the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance.

All passed their exams with excellent feedback and marks.

Paula said: “I am extremely proud of all the dancers for their hard work. They are such a pleasure to teach.

“I am also grateful to their families for their support and commitment to the dancers, especially in these difficult times.”
