Youngster has designs on success after winning art competition

A West Lothian girl has designed her nursery’s new logo.

Young Molly Stewart, who attends the nursery class at Parkhead Primary in West Calder, created the winning entry in a competition to find a new design.

Speaking to the Courier, Cheryl Goldie, early years co-ordinator at Parkhead Primary, said: “The values and the vision statement for the school had changed, and we wanted to involve the students, so we ran the logo competition.

“It was lovely to see the children’s artistic impressions of what they associate with nursery.

“Molly’s logo featured the school colours and really summed up what we were looking for.”

Molly won a voucher for Smiggle, and her logo is featured on the banner outside the school.
