Youngest artist ever to sell out King Tut's is back with his second single release

A talented Lanarkshire teen, who is the youngest ever act to sell out King Tut’s, is releasing his second single.

Connor Fyfe’s debut single, Truth be Told, was released last year and made it into the top 20 of the Scottish singles chart.

The 14-year-old Bellshill Academy pupil will follow that up this week with second single release, Pray .

Following the announcement of a live gig at the legendary Glasgow venue last December, the tickets, which went on sale on Connor's birthday in September, sold out within hours.

Unfortunately, the gig fell by the wayside because of Scottish Government restrictions on the hospitality industry.

And the hype that has built around him is not just about a couple of songs, for Connor has already released a full album entitled Don’t.

There’s no chance that the prospect of a full house at Tut’s will result in stage fright for the young singer/songwriter though. Connor has already been there and done it, supporting The Snuts at the venue at the tender age of 13.

The new track will be available on all digital platforms and is coming out on the Coatbridge-based Button Up Records label.

Button Up boss Garry John Kane, said: “I’m delighted to have Connor release Pray on the label. I think he is destined for big things and he is booked to play Sound City in Liverpool later this year, that is usually a big stepping stone for bands and artists.

"When they’re booked to play there you know they’re moving in the right direction. Oasis and Supergrass played there on their way to greater things.”

The teenager will play on the Sunday of the three-day Sound City festival on October 21. It's the UK's biggest independent festival that sees established names play and showcases emerging talent.

And it will be a big month for him. As well as playing the rescheduled sold out night at King Tut’s on Hallowe’en and being on the bill for the Merseyside festival, Connor also has sold out dates at Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh and Church Dundee on October 14 and 16 to look forward to.

Pray is officially released tomorrow on Button Up Records and will be available on all digital platforms.
