Police are investigating after a young worker died after being hurt at a naval docks on the Firth of Forth.
The 23-year-old was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after being found at the Rosyth Dockyard.
Police have are now investigating after the horror incident at around 10.45am on Friday morning.
Tope medics at the hospital battled to save his life but he died a short time later.
The Daily Record reports officers have now launched a probe into the tragedy.
The Health and Safety Executive have also been informed.
And the Procurator Fiscal is expected to launch a mandatory Fatal Accident Inquiry.
There is a requirement to hold an FAI where a death occurs in Scotland as a result of a work-related accident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 10.45am on Friday, 25 June, 2021 following a report for a worker injured at Rosyth Dockyard, Fife.
"Emergency services attended and a 23-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later.
"Enquiries are currently ongoing into the incident and The Health and Safety Executive has been informed."
