Young worker dies after being hurt at Scots dockyard as police launch probe

A young worker has died after being hurt at Rosyth Dockyard.

Police have launched a probe after the horror incident happened at around 10.45am yesterday morning.

Emergency services raced to the scene and the 23-year-old worker was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

He died a short time later.

Officers have now launched an investigation into the tragedy.

The Health and Safety Executive have also been informed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 10.45am on Friday, 25 June, 2021 following a report for a worker injured at Rosyth Dockyard, Fife.

"Emergency services attended and a 23-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing into the incident and The Health and Safety Executive has been informed."
