A young woman’s body has been found in a wooded area in Hamilton.
Police and forensics teams swooped on an area near Cadzow Glen on Sunday morning.
Formal identification is yet to take place.
Pictures on Sunday showed officers at the scene, with a large cordon in place and Cadzow Street closed and guarded.
Investigations were ongoing throughout the day with emergency services still in attendance late into the night.
On Monday, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.15am on Sunday, 28 November, 2021 the body of a young female was found in the wooded area near to Cadzow Glen, Hamilton.
“Formal identification is still to take place and enquiries are ongoing."
