A woman aged in her 20s has been hospitalised after a road collision in the early hours of Monday morning.
The incident is understood to have happened at around 2.30am on the N69 near Glin in Co Limerick.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of the single-vehicle crash and a woman aged in her 20s was taken to University Hospital Kerry for treatment.
The road remained closed throughout Monday morning and afternoon with diversions in place.
A local landmark, known as Glin Tower, was also damaged in the incident.
In an update on Monday afternoon, Limerick Council said: "Road closed - The N69 is closed between Glin and Tarbert until further notice. Diversions are in place.

"Divert at Glin onto R524 to Athea, then R523 to Listowel and then N69 to Tarbert and vice versa.
"Apologies for any inconvenience caused."
Meanwhile, gardai have launched an investigation into the crash.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardai and Emergency Services are attending a single vehicle road traffic collision on the N69 near Glin, Co Limerick.
"A woman in her 20s was taken to University Hospital Kerry for treatment and the road is closed.
"Investigations are ongoing."
