Young woman rushed to hospital after being hit by car on Scots road

A female pedestrian has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Forres this afternoon.

Emergency services raced to to Greshop Road around 3pm after a young woman, believed to be in her twenties, was struck by a vehicle.

She was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment as cops locked down the road for two hours.

The extent of her injuries is not yet known.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said : "Officers attended Greshop Road in Forres around 3pm on Saturday, 14 August, 2021 following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car.

"The female pedestrian has been taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.

"The road re-opened around 5pm."
