Two arrested after police seize ‘firearm’ and drugs haul from Falkirk house during ongoing assault probe

Police probing the assault of a young man have recovered a firearm and drugs during a house raid in Falkirk.

Officers were called after a woman was attacked in Kilsyth, North Lanarkshire, on Sunday.

Their enquiries lead them to a property in Kinnaird Drive, Larbert, where they carried out a raid at around 11pm.

Detectives were seen removing items from the house while specialist forensic officers were also called to the scene.

A 28-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with the seizures.

They are due to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Tuesday, November 17.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are carrying out enquiries after a woman was assaulted in the Kilsyth area on Sunday, 15 November, 2020.

“As part of this investigation, officers carried out a search at a property on Kinnaird Drive in Larbert where a quantity of drugs and a firearm were subsequently recovered."
