Young woman found dead in Scots village as police probe 'unexplained' death

A young woman has been found dead at a home in West Lothian.

Officers descended on Learmonth Crescent in West Calder just before 7pm on Saturday.

The body of a 26-year-old woman was discovered at a property on the street.

On Sunday afternoon, cops confirmed that an investigation is underway into the woman's death.

The circumstances around her passing are currently not know and her death is currently being treated as unexplained by officers.

A post-mortem will be carried out in due course.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Record “Police Scotland are carrying out enquiries into the death of a 26-year-old woman following a call to an address in West Calder at around 6.40pm on Saturday, May 7.”

"A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course however the death is being treated as unexplained."
