Young woman found dead in her city centre flat after colleagues became worried when she didn't log-in to work

A young woman was found dead in her Manchester city centre apartment by colleagues who became worried when she didn’t log-in to work.

Personal assistant Matilda Tomlinson died at her home in Chapeltown Street on September 9.

An inquest opening at Manchester coroners court on Thursday heard the 26-year-old, who was born in Preston, had a history of depression.

When Ms Tomlinson failed to log in to work from home on September 9 her colleagues became concerned and went to her flat, the inquest heard.

She was found hanged in her living room.

Police were informed and a 'special procedures' investigation - an inquiry into a sudden or unexpected death - was launched.

It found there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Ms Tomlinson's death.

Coroner Nigel Meadows adjourned the hearing until November 25 when he said he would be 'hopeful' a date for a full inquest could be arranged.
