Young woman 'extremely shaken' after being assaulted and kidnapped on countryside lane

A young woman has been left 'extremely shaken' after being kidnapped and assaulted on a country lane in Bolton.

Greater Manchester Police said the terrifying incident happened on Matchmoor Lane in Horwich.

The victim, aged in her 20s, was attacked by a man who then drove off with her in a car.

She suffered injuries including bruises to her head, police said.

No more circumstances surrounding the attack, which happened on Sunday, July 7, were revealed by GMP.

A statement read: "Detectives in Bolton are appealing for witnesses following an assault and kidnap on Matchmoor Road, Bolton.

"At around 3.30pm on Sunday, July 7, a woman in her 20s was assaulted by a male who then drove off with her in a vehicle.

"The woman suffered a number of bruises to her head and was extremely shaken up by this incident."

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 5757 or email the investigating officer at 13815@gmp.police.uk, quoting incident number 1455 of July 7.
