Young woman dies in hospital after being struck by SUV on George's Street, Dublin

A woman aged in her 30s has died in hospital after a horror collision in Dublin city centre.

She was rushed to hospital on Saturday night after being struck by an SUV on George's Street.

Gardai have confirmed the woman has since died from her injuries.

A spokesperson said: “The female pedestrian, aged in her 30s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to St James Hospital where she passed at a later date. The driver of the SUV was uninjured.”

An appeal has been launched for witnesses to come forward.

Gardai want to hear from anyone who saw the collision happened around 9pm on Saturday, December 11.

The spokesperson continued: “Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

“Any road users who were travelling in the area at the time and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
