Young woman among two arrested after Gardai seize cash and drugs worth €65,000 in south Dublin raids

Two people have been arrested after gardai seized suspected drugs and cash in Dublin 8 on Monday evening.

Officers attached to Kevin Street Divisional Drug Unit carried out a planned operation at houses on Nicholas Street and Bride Street.

A 21-year-old woman was searched in a stop and search operation and diamorphine with an estimated street value of €29,960 was seized.

In a further stop and search, a 52-year-old man was found with €4,450 in cash.

The man and woman were arrested at the scene and detained under Section 2, Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Kevin Street garda station.

A further search of two properties was carried out and suspected diamorphine with an estimated street value of €35,000.

A garda spokeswoman said investigations into the find are ongoing.
