Young woman, 26, dies after being hit by scrambler bike

A 26-year-old woman has died after being hit by a scrambler bike.

The young woman died four days after she was injured in a crash on Court Hey Road, in Huyton, Merseyside.

Police said the scrambler bike rider remains in hospital receiving treatment, reports the ECHO.

The 29-year-old's condition has been described as serious, but stable.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Monday, March 1, at about 12.45pm.

The woman was treated for serious injuries at the scene but she died on Friday, March 5.

On Friday, Merseyside Police announced the incident was being looked at by the Independent Office of Police Conduct.

A spokesman for the force said: "The pedestrian was treated for serious injuries at the scene, and taken to hospital for further treatment. She sadly died from her injuries on Friday 5 March.

"Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

"The rider of the bike, a 29-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he remains receiving treatment. His condition is described as serious but stable. CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone who saw the incident or was passing and has any dashcam footage or information is asked to contact us via @MerPolCC on Twitter with reference 21000132231."
