Young West Lothian man found dead at beauty spot as emergency crews rush to scene

A 22-year-old man has been found dead at a West Lothian beauty spot.

Police have confirmed that the man's body was recovered from the water at Parkley Fishery near Linlithgow in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The Daily Record reports that the discovery was made around 1am, with emergency services arriving at the scene a short while later.

Officers say there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances, and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said “Police Scotland can confirm that a body of a 22-year-old man was recovered from water near Parkley Place, Linlithgow around 2.20am on Wednesday, 2 June, 2021.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”

The fishery, which is situated near the Bathgate Hills, is popular with local walkers and visitors to the area.
