Young Thug was involved in a shooting targeted at Lil Wayne’s tour bus in April, Georgia prosecutors believe. In a court indictment, they allege that Young Thug and Birdman, the boss of Wayne’s Cash Money label, were involved in orchestrating the attack.

Young Thug’s tour manager, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, had been identified as the gunman in Atlanta on 26 April. He faces charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a felon, and criminal gang activity.

Lil Wayne has been in a bitter dispute with Cash Money, suing the label for $51m for failing to release his Tha Carter VI mixtape. At the same time as Wayne fell out with his label, Birdman shifted his affections to Young Thug, who annoyed Wayne by naming his album Barter 6.

Although neither Birdman nor Young Thug face charges in relation to the shooting – in which no one was hurt – prosecutors say they were working with Winfrey. The news comes from WSBTV reporter Mike Petchenik in Atlanta (via Consequence of Sound).

On Thursday, Young Thug was arrested at home in Atlanta after threatening to shoot the director of security at a shopping mall in the face.
