Australia's men's under-20 soccer team is back in the Asian Cup after qualifiers were moved from Iraq.

The Young Socceroos withdrew last month after federal government advice not to travel to Basra.

But the Asian Football Confederation has now moved the qualifiers from Iraq, with a new location yet to be confirmed.

The qualifiers' original scheduled dates of September 10-18 have also been changed to a date yet to be determined.

The qualifiers will decide spots at next year's finals tournament in Uzbekistan, which will then determine the four remaining nations to represent Asia at the 2023 U20 World Cup in Indonesia.

Australia were scheduled to play Kuwait, India and Iraq in their Group H matches.
