Young Scots woman suffers serious sexual assault in Glasgow

A young Scots woman suffered a serious sexual assault in Glasgow last night.

The attack on the 21-year-old near both Sauchiehall Street and Sauchiehall Lane in Glasgow city centre on Tuesday 9 June is being investigated.

The lane has currently been blocked off and is being guarded by the police while enquiries into the incident remain ongoing, according to Glasgow Live.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are investigating a report of the serious sexual assault of a 21-year-old woman which took place just after midnight last night in the vicinity of Sauchiehall Street and Sauchiehall Lane.

"Enquiries are at an early stage however, anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101, quoting reference number 0250 of Wednesday, 9 June."
