A Scottish man is in a coma in Ibiza after being seriously assaulted whilst on holiday with pals.
Friends of Gavin Roberton, 26, claim he was randomly attacked after a night out on the Spanish Island on Wednesday.
Gavin, of Stewarton , East Ayrshire, is believed to be in a serious but stable condition.
His mum Kirsty McMaster and aunt Paula Marshall have travelled to Ibiza to be at his bedside.
Pal Reece Poole, who was on holiday with Gavin, posted on Facebook to ask for help to get him home.
He said: "This may not be the place but in desperate times I ask for help. My mate was sadly attacked in Ibiza on Wednesday morning and is now in a coma. I am asking for any donations to help bring him home when he is ready."
Gavin travelled abroad with no travel insurance and now heartbroken friends and family are rallying together to help raise money to bring him home to Scotland.
Family friend Elaine Scott has set up a fundraiser on Facebook .
She wrote: "Kirsty’s son Gavin is very unwell in Ibiza.
"He has a long road of recovery in front of him but unfortunately like a lot of young people he does not have insurance.
"I would urge anyone who knows Gavin or his family to help get Gavin home when he is ready.
"His Mum Kirsty and aunt Paula are in Ibiza and would value any donation to help with costs."
In less than 24 hours £6635 has been raised by almost 250 people.

Posting on Facebook this morning, Gavin's mum Kirsty said: "I would just like everyone to know that Gavin is stable just now.
"It's going to be a long road ahead for us. Thanks for everyone's support. Kirsty and David."
