Young Scots boy given behind-the-scenes tour of ASDA in amazing birthday gesture

Staff members at a Scottish Asda store have gone viral on social media after they helped a super fan celebrate his birthday.

Ten-year-old Lewis Sinclair loves all things Asda and has been regularly visiting the Queensferry store since he was young, and for his latest birthday his mum wanted to organise something special for him.

The supermarket chain shared the story to their Facebook page and on their official website, where they said that Lewis's mum, Lisa, got in touch with a store manager to plan something special.

And staff at the store gave Lewis and his eight-year-old brother Jacob a behind the scenes tour watching the lorries and home shopping vans as well as a visit to the stock room.

The pair were also treated to a birthday cake with a model van on top, Lewis was also allowed to sit in manager Adele's office chair, which went down a treat.

Mum Lisa said: "Lewis and Jacob absolutely loved it. Everyone there was amazing. We can't thank Adele enough for arranging it for us; nothing was too much trouble. It's a birthday he'll never forget. We've been coming here regularly since Lewis was a baby and he has always loved all things Asda."

Store manager Adele added: "I met Lewis and Jacob at last Christmas and Lewis was asking me all sorts of questions about Asda. They made my day so I bought them both a toy Asda lorry each and they were made up.

"I said one day they could come back and have a little visit and see a real lorry. And then his mum got in touch and asked if Lewis could come to store for his 10th birthday and I said 'I'll look after them, not a problem.'

"As they were here one of our big lorries came in so we let him have a look at that and he met some of the colleagues too. He had an amazing time. I think he asked me about 400 questions in an hour as he is so inquisitive. It was so lovely to have them here and to see them enjoying themselves so much."

The post sharing the kind story has been shared 9,000 times and received hundreds of comments all praising the Queensferry staff members for helping Lewis celebrate his special day.

One shopper wrote: "Well done to the lovely Adele and staff Happy Birthday Lewis xxx."

A second commenter wrote: "Happy Birthday Lewis, and well done Asda, the store that goes the extra mile x"
