Young's launches 'work from pub' deals to attract people doing their jobs remotely

Young’s has launched a number of ‘work from pub’ deals to entice people that have been doing their jobs away from the office since the Covid-19 lockdown started.

The London pub group said a number of its venues are offering packages to attract freelancers and home-workers.

The move will help bring in customers at a time when numerous lockdown restrictions are hurting trade.

Customers during the day will have access to free WiFi, charging points, quiet spaces, and food and drink deals.

Offers include a £20 deal at The Kings Head in Winchmore Hill, which would give customers lunch from the sandwich menu, bottomless tea and coffee, and a pint of beer or glass of wine at the end of the day.

At the Hammersmith Ram people can pay £10.50 for unlimited hot drinks and lunch.

Packages are available at certain pubs throughout the week.

Patrick Dardis, chief executive of Young’s told the Evening Standard the move comes during what is the “toughest time the industry has seen, probably ever”.

Companies in the sector have had a difficult time this year. They were forced to shut sites in March for the Covid 19 lockdown, and could open reopen from July 4, with social distancing measures in place.

Since then there have been more rules, with London at the weekend moving to Tier 2, which means there is a ban on mixing between households indoors, including in pubs and restaurants.
