A £250,000-a-year mental health support scheme for young people will launch this week.
Street Talk is being provided by Trafford Council and sends youth workers out to talk to youngsters in parks and on the streets of the borough.
Young people in Trafford have been heavily involved in designing the new service, which is part of the council's youth engagement service.
Street Talk had a soft launch in July 2019 and has already delivered over 50 sessions across Trafford, but will officially be launched on Thursday, November 7, and will now run seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.
A total of 750 young people have already used the service, which is now based in the newly refurbished Talkshop young people’s centre in the centre of Sale.
Trafford Council has invested more than £100,000 into redeveloping the centre for its new purpose.
Coun Cath Hynes, Trafford Council’s cabinet member for children’s services, will officially launch the service on Thursday.
She said: “This investment in our young people is fantastic news.
"We want a borough that can be enjoyed by residents or all ages and this goes a long way to deliver on that promise.
“I am particularly delighted that young people are already working with youth workers in developing the new system.
