'Young people are frustrated when politicians sit in offices and make policies which don't make any difference'

The project will deliver the 'Peace On The Streets' message against gun and knife crime via the radio campaign. Young people will be able to listen to each other and offer advice from a street level, campaigning to reduce street crime in Southwark and helping to relieve London postcode tensions.

Supported by a host of DJ's, musicians and singers, many celebrities have been keen to support South City Radio's youth radio broadcast including, Tinchy Stryder, Richard Blackwood, hot dance duo Booty Luv, NDubz, Masterstepz, Tinie Tempah, Stylo G, philanthropist Charles Gordon, and Rapper Bashy who says:

"Reprezent is an exciting project and opportunity, its great to be part of it, see it happening and make a difference, working to keep people on the straight and narrow" Bashy

Scheduled to appear live on air, the celebrity guests will be interviewed by the young people on prominent and topical issues.

MP's supporting the Reprezent 87.7FM campaign include Harriet Harman MP and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, Hazel Blears MP and Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Simon Hughes MP, and Dawn Butler MP who says:

"Reprezent 87.7 FM is exactly the sort of community- led project needed in order to help tackle issues associated with knife and gun crime….. Community radio stations such as South City Radio and their Reprezent 87.7FM broadcast really empower the community and are an important part of the solution when tackling this issue."
