Young Nottingham Forest striker handed trial at French Ligue 1 club

Striker Idris Kadded is hoping to earn a deal with French Ligue 1 side Nimes after being released by Nottingham Forest.

The Frenchman arrived at the Nigel Doughty Academy on an initial trial earlier in the year, before signing a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Kadded became a regular in the second half of the season in Jimmy Gilligan’s Under-23 side but didn’t do enough to earn a longer-term deal at the City Ground.

Reports in the French press say Kadded has been handed a trial with Nimes and has been training with the first team this week in the build-up to this weekend’s clash away at already relegated Guincamp.

At the age of 20, Kadded from Lyon came through the ranks at Nice though he failed to make the grade in the first team at the Allianz Riviera Stadium.

Kadded had featured in Scotland for Dundee, before making his Forest debut in the 3-2 defeat at Bolton Wanderers in early January, playing 64 minutes.
