Young musicians to learn from industry professionals at Croke Park event

An exciting youth music event has been announced for Croke Park on Saturday 9th May.

The Irish Youth Music Awards (IYMAs) are organised by Youth Work Ireland, and their National Day is an opportunity for young people to learn from musicians and industry professionals during a day of masterclasses, workshops, networking and gigs.

Last year’s event was attended by Irish talent including Wyvern Lingo, The Academic and The Riptide Movement, and it featured performances from young musicians ages 12-19 from across the island.

RTÉ 2FM will be broadcasting live from the event, which is open to all ages and alcohol-free.

IYMAs director Barry Lennon said, “The IYMAs National Day provides a space for young people to gain access to the music and creative industries in Ireland.

“It also provides an opportunity to see some great bands that would otherwise not be accessible to young people as our event is all ages.

“This event ultimately provides a space to have fun, learn and gain access to the creative and music industries and is open to everyone – whether you are a performer or not.”

The event will feature performances from young musicians like Kildare band Ryders Blü, who played last year (IYMAs)

Tickets for the IYMAs National Day are available from Eventbrite priced €20 excluding booking fee.

Group tickets are also available from Eventbrite for youth clubs, projects or schools priced €120 (including booking fee) and must be booked by April 22nd.
