Young mum-of-four tragically found dead in tent in Dublin street named locally

A homeless mother-of-four who was tragically found dead in a tent in in Dublin Saturday has been named locally.

Janet Jackson's body was discovered by Gardai in the early hours near the Lynch's Lane area of Clondalkin in south Dublin.

A post-mortem is being carried out with a file being prepared for the Coroners Court, Dublin Live reports.

Tributes have been pouring in for the beloved Dublin mum who was in her early 30s.

Janet's sister confirmed the news on social media saying that she could not believe her big sibling had been taken away from her.

She said: "I can’t take this. Whoever hurt and took my sister away from me will pay for this. My big sister, I love you so much and I just can’t believe this. Rest in Peace, Janet.

Another close friend added: "RIP Janet. I was only talking to you and you were off out of here to get yourself better for you and your babies. It's a cruel world, look over your kids, your family and your friends."

A third said: "So sad Rip Janet. I hope you get the best bed in heaven."

On Friday, the body of a man in his 40s was found near the IFSC with Gardai still investigating "all circumstances" surrounding his death.

Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) CEO Anthony Flynn said he was "completely saddened" by the second death on our streets in the last week.

He said: "A young girl died, alone in a tent on Saturday. And not a whisper about it."

He added: "How many people have actually died in homeless services this year?

"How loud do we have to shout, how many more have to die?"

A garda spokeswoman confirmed the tragic death.

She said: "A body of a woman in her 30s was located at Lynch’s Lane, Clondalkin in the early hours of 24 October, 2020.

"A post mortem has been carried out and a file is being prepared for the Coroners Court."
