A motorcyclist has died after a one vehicle crash on a major Scots road.

Emergency serviced raced to the scene of the incident, which took place on the A941 Dufftown to Craigellachie road near Glenburnie in Dufftown, Moray.

It involved a black and red Honda CBR125 motorcycle and took place at around 12.50am on Sunday December 19.

The 23-year-old male rider was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The road remains closed as Police Scotland begin an investigation into the collision.

Sergeant Peter Henderson of the Road Policing Department said: "Our thoughts at this time are with the family and friends of the motorcyclist.

"The road is currently closed and an investigation is underway.

"I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision or seen the vehicle prior to the collision, or who may have dash cam footage that could assist the enquiry, to contact police on 101, quoting incident number PS-20211219-0223."
