A young motorcyclist has died and his female passenger left hurt after the pair crashed on the weekend.
The motorbike was being driven by a 26-year-old man on the A4120 when it was involved in a collision not far from Aberystwyth.
A 23-year-old woman was riding behind the driver and sustained minor injuries.
A number of members of the public stopped to assist the casualties and alerted the emergency services.
Both were initially treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital but the man tragically died in hospital three days later.
Dyfed Powys Police has launched an investigation and is now appealing for any information about the crash, which happened on a scenic stretch of road between Devil’s Bridge and Capel Seion.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal motorbike collision between Devil’s Bridge and Capel Seion on Sunday, July 12.
"A 26-year-old man, and a 23-year-old woman who was riding pillion, were injured. Both were treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital.
"The male rider sustained serious injuries, and sadly died in hospital yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, July 15. His family have been informed and are being supported by local officers.
"An investigation is underway into the accident, which took place at around 12.20pm on the A4120 near Aberystwyth. Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision."
