20-year-old Daryl Meikle has left Hamilton Accies to join Blackburn United on a permanent basis.
The midfielder made one appearance for Hamilton this season before heading out to the East of Scotland League Premier Division side on loan.
Meikle has now been released from his contract with Stuart Taylor's side to join Blackburn on a permanent basis.
He is the latest youngster to leave Hamilton after New Zealand youth international George Stanger departed Accies last week to pursue other senior opportunities.
Taylor has said that he won't stand in anyone's way if they don't wish to be at Hamilton any longer.
Meikle's sole appearance for Hamilton came during the summer's League Cup group stage match against Albion Rovers.
He was given 45 minutes as Hamilton exited the competition at the group stage phase.
Taylor's side return to Championship action on Friday night against Partick Thistle after beating Aberdeen 'B' in the third round of the SPFL Trust Trophy last Wednesday.
