Young man suffers facial injury after being attacked with bottle in Bury

A young man suffered a facial injury after being attacked with a bottle in Bury town centre.

Police were called to an alleyway just off Silver Street at around 5am on May 23.

Officers say a 20-year-old man was left with a facial injury caused by a bottle.

An appeal for witnesses has since been launched.

In a Facebook post, GMP Bury North said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a 20-year-old man in an alley way just off Silver Street, Bury.

“The incident was reported to have happened at around 5am on Sunday 23rd May 2021. The man was left with a facial injury caused by a bottle.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact DC 14533 Leacy of Bury CID on 0161 856 8948 quoting incident number 1253 of the 24th May 2021.

“Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
