Seriously injured man found in alleyway after attack in Rochdale

A seriously injured man was found in an alleyway after he was attacked by two men in Rochdale.

The man, in his 20s, was rushed to hospital following the assault on Copenhagen Street on Monday evening.

He was discovered by a member of the public at around 11.30pm.

His injuries were described as serious but not life threatening.

He has since been released from hospital.

The road was cordoned off following the incident and witnesses said detectives were seen trawling the street.

Footage showed a number of police vans and ambulance vehicles at the scene.

No arrests have been made.

A large number of people were seen gathered on the pavement following the attack.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: "At 9.16pm we attended the scene with three rapid response vehicles, an ambulance and an operational commander.

"A man in his late 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries."

A spokesman for GMP said: "Police were called to a disturbance on Copenhagen Street at around 11.30pm on Monday, October 28.

"A man in his late 20s was found by a member of the public in a nearby alleyway with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and required hospital treatment. He has since been discharged.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are still ongoing."
