An inquest into his death was opened yesterday (Tuesday) at Bolton Coroners Court.

Area coroner Dr Alan Walsh heard that Mr Horrocks had lived in Hindley and worked as a refuse collector.

Police coroners officer Stefan Wilson told the inquest that Mr Horrock's body was discovered in Borsdane Wood.

"On August 1, 2021, Ryan James Horrocks was found unresponsive," Mr Wilson explained.

"Police and paramedics attended the scene and a full investigation was implemented.

"Paramedics pronounced death at the scene."

Dr Walsh adjourned the inquest to be concluded at a later date.

A fundraising page has been set up to help support Ryan's family, find out more here.
