Gardaí have launched an investigation after a young man was assaulted in the early hours of Saturday morning in Letterkenny.
The victim, in his 20s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to be treated after the incident.
He is receiving help for serious, non-life threatening injuries.
Officers have arrested a teenage boy in relation to the incident.
He is currently being detained at Letterkenny Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
A spokesman for the force said "Gardaí are investigating an incident of assault which occurred in the Glenard Park area of Letterkenny this morning, 26 th June 2021. A male in his 20s was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to be treated for serious yet non-life threatening injuries.
"A juvenile male in his teens has been arrested in relation to this incident and is currently detained at Letterkenny Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. Investigation is ongoing."
