Young man rushed to hospital after 'mystery liquid' thrown in his face in Edinburgh park

A 21-year-old man is in hospital after having an 'unknown liquid' thrown in his face in Edinburgh.

We told how police raced to the city's Saughton Park at around 2.10pm on Saturday.

Ambulance crews also swooped on the scene amid the 'ongoing incident'.

It's since been revealed that a young man had liquid thrown in his face.

The victim was rushed to hospital as a precaution.

Officers are now appealing for information to trace the person responsible and enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesman told the Record: “Police received a report that a man had an unknown liquid thrown in his face in Saughton Park, Edinburgh around 2.10pm on Saturday, 4 July, 2020.

“The 21-year-old man has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the person responsible.”
